THE HEROIC HOUSEWIFE

An orderly hut is far more desirable than a chaotic mansion. Luxury and wealth are not a guarantee of harmony or order. Nor is a  man’s modest income necessarily a hindrance to either. The good housewife, however, is more than a -caretaker of the house or a budget  balancer for the family. She i s wife to her husband, mother to her children, and daughter to her parents. And she is also a member of the family of the human race whose perpetuation she shares and cherishes.

A good housewife is an observant and thoughtful woman. She sees the reasonable desires, likes, and habits of  her husband and she meets his daily needs without being  asked. Whether her house is a pretentious mansion or a modest dwelling, she does the best she   can to make the place neat, orderly, and attractive.
