THE GOOD HUSBAND

The good husband is a thankful man

The word husband has several meanings. It denotes a tiller of the soil, a farmer, or a  manager of economic affairs. It also means a director, a rector, and, more commonly, the head of a family. And hus- bandry is a word for agriculture, farming, or frugality. For thousands of  years man was primarily a tiller of the soil and was very close to nature.

He worked hard on land and lived frugally. The name husband was then equivalent to a provider, or the supporter of a family. But of course, the most common definition of husband today is "a man who has a wife", in this brief essay, attention is primarily centered on a husband’s relations with his wife.
