LONELINESS AND SUBTUDE

Why should there be so many lonely people in the world? Are these people doomed to be lonely and unhappy for the rest of their lives? Are there any remedies to eliminate such loneliness? To such questions our attention is now direct- ed. Therefore the answers to loneliness must be found in its causes. The least severe type of loneliness is that encountered by young college students, The reason is simple. They are lonely because they lack friends and particularly friends of the opposite sex during weekends.

The cure is also simple. Lonely students should take advantage of their leisure hours to bury themselves in serious studies and prepare them selves for useful and meaningful lives in the future. They should be kind and considerate of others and remember Emerson’s saying in "Friendship", that the only way to have real friends is to be one yourself.
