EXISTENCE AND LIVING

All creatures exist, but only human beings live.

From a conventional point of view, there is very little difference between existence   and living. Any one who exists lives. He may be rich or poor, educated, good or bad, but he lives anyway, so long as he is  alive. But from the philosophical outlook there are great significant differences  between existence and living, far greater than those between the well-dressed and the poorly clad.

A piece of cloth and a finished dress are not the same nor are a heap of bricks the equivalent of a dwelling.  A human being who merely exists and a human being who truly lives are two wholly  different persons. Perhaps the example of a comparison or a contrast between a house and a home will illustrate the point  more clearly.
