This Mahakshetra built in an extensive five-acre land
embodies many objects of worship in and out of its prakaras. Its
tall towers, regarded as the sthulalingas according to Saivagamas
are the conspicuous land marks visible for miles around. Inside
the prakaras there are as many as thirty worth-seeing and miss-not worshipful items and each visitor, whether a gay tourist or
devout theist has to avail the darsan and offer soulful prayer to
making the visit fruitful and life purposeful. Here is a list of
places and holy icons deserving indispensable visitation and
devout veneration. Visit each spot, one after another as
mentioned hereunder to reap benefits enumerated in the hoary
scriptures.
Normally
everyone enters the sanctum through the mahadwar facing north. This broad
mahadwar piercing into the sturdy first prakara is adorned with an imposing five
- storeyed tower. And it is called Bikshala gopuram, and thereby hangs a tale.
