FOREWORD |

In the
concluding part of his lectures, Sri K. Balasubrahmania Iyer refers to some of our great
saints and sages. It was Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa who said: I Just as the rivers,
wherever they spring from and in whatever way they flow, ultimately roach the great ocean,
so do all religions, practised in the true spirit, lead one ultimately to the ocean of
bliss.' The Hindu ideal of life, truly expounded by apt quotations in this book,
will serve as a solace to the disturbed soul in, the present day world. I hope and
trust that this book will serve as a source of enlightenment and inspiration to all
who go through its well documented and well expounded pages.
