ARE OUR CLASSICS WORLD-NEGATING?

When a young man asked Swami Vivekananda for advice for getting peace of mind, the Swamiji emphatically declared: "If you wish peace of mind, server others." "There are some miserable people in the: neighborhood of your house. You serve them to the best of your ability. One is ill and you will nurse him Another is starving and you will feed him. The third is. ignorant and you will teach him."

          The Example of Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi who came after Swami Vivekananda also preached the doctrine of active service and help for the poor and the miserable. He coined the phrase 'Daridra Narayana ' for the poor. He spiritualized Politics, suffered for the sake of his countrymen and gave them Independence from foreign rule. A saint in spirit, he felt God in his pulse and was guided by his inner voice in working actively for the poor. He led hiscountrymen as a hero in the battle for freedom. He developed the great principles of Truth and Non-violence.
