ARE OUR CLASSICS WORLD-NEGATING?

In another place, he says, 'the first worship is the worship of the Virat i.e.
of all those around us. The first God we have to worship is our own countryman.' About his guru Sri Ramakrishna Parama- hamsa, he says: He would have liked every one each day to take the hungry Narayana or the lame Narayana or the blind Narayana or six or twelve such men into their own houses, feed them and offer them the same worship which they would do to Siva or Vishnu in the temple.'

About individual salvation, Swami Viveka nanda made the following statement "If you seek your own salvation, you will go to
hell. It is the salvation of others that you must seek. And if you have to go to hell working for others, that is worth more than the gain (of heaven) by seeking your own salvation." He adds further: 'Let s throw away all pride of learning and study of all the sastras and all sadhana for the attainment of personal mukthi.
