CONCLUSION

And we have to remember that we have as our friends and rivals two great world religions which look beyond India for inspiration and which have brought into existence two growing communities which cannot be fitted into the Hindu social structure. And, lastly, there is the deep internal unrest in certain classes of the Hindu society itself-unrest caused by the petrifaction of the ancient social order and the consequent social injustice and tyranny.

Great insight and wise statesmanship are required to direct these new forces properly and develop a type of religion that would satisfy the demands of the hour. But the hour has already found its man. Under the wise guidance of Mahatma Gandhi, Hinduism has begun to exorcise the demon of untouchability and putting its house in order and even delivering a message to mankind. The soul of Hinduism has ever been the same, though it has different embodiments in different ages.
