Older indigenous religions as a whole will experience a revival. Europe will once more reencounter and reintegrate its pre-Christian past. The spiritual depth of ancient myths and rituals will become obvious to a deeper psychological vision. The Middle East and North Africa will have to deal with their pre-Islamic past, particularly the Egyptian and Babylonian traditions that modern archeology has once more uncovered, and come to recognize the value of their older images and icons.

The mystical side of all religions will become prominent and the ritualistic and ideological side will recede. Spiritual, yogic and occult movements of all kinds will gain much interest all over the world. Syncretic religious movements combining various teachings will continue. Futuristic religious ideas will become evident with a seeking to contact the greater reality of the mysterious universe in which we live. There are many signs of such a new awakening. The already existing interest in Eastern (dharmic) religions of Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism indicates this trend.

The upsurge of interest in Native American traditions, Western occultism, Pagan practices, and Shamanism is another indication. A renewed interest in the mystical side of predominant Western religions is another. Another is a seeking of spirituality through modern psychology or modern science. There will be much in this movement that will be superficial, wrongly formulated or misleading and that will have to be rejected in the long run. Religions may be combined superficially, the occult may be explored from a naive or egoistic standpoint that leads to confusion or exploitation.
