Vedaranyam - 63 Nayanmars Page17

Agastya built a Parnasala and conducted his austerities after being told by the Lord of the Vedavana that He would appear before him in the matrimonial robe. It was from here that Agastya used to go daily to worship the Lord of the Vedavana in this form. He established a linga here by name Agnipureswara, adored it and got his ambitions and desires fulfilled. That place came to be called Agastiampalli. There is a temple here too.

Besides the Manikarnika, Vedamrita. And Veda Teertha, there are several other holy waters in the surroundings of the Vedaranyam temple, baths in which are capable of conferring upon man all kinds of blessings. Those who adore the deities of this place, those who bathe in the holy.

Waters of the locality, those who live in this place and even those who stay here for a Kshana (less than a minute) will be freed of all sins, will have all their desires fulfilled and will attain salvation in the end.
