YAJNAVALKYA AND MAITREYI

"The Atman does not decay or get destroyed even after the death of the body. The Atman is unborn and deathless. It exists by itself and always, and therefore continuously without break."

"Only when there is more than one, is there any chance of one seeing, hearing or thinking of the other. But the Atmah is  One and indivisible. It is one without a second. It is the Knower as well as the Known. This is my teaching."

Saying thus the rishi departed.

This story appears in the Brihad-Aranyaka Upanishad.
