YAJNAVALKYA AND MAITREYI

"So, Maitreyi! It is the Atman that should be seen, listened to, meditated and pondered upon. In the process everything
becomes known and understood."

"Now, listen further. The world detests him who sees the world in anything else but the Atman."

"Gods and beings detest him who sees them in any other thing but the Atman."

"So, all things-the world, God and beings-everything is in the Atman."

"You can't capture the sound-waves of a drum-beat; but if you take hold of the drum and beat it yourself you can control  that sound. So too, when we know the Atman we know the inner soul of all."
