SUNDARAR

His first wife refused to receive him at Tiruvarur, but God interceded on his behalf and brought about their reconciliation.

Sundarar came into contact with another saint from Kerala called Cheraman. The two together visited many holy shrines.

After thus fully living the life of a God-man, one day Sundarar prayed to the Lord: "Please take me back into Your abode."

Thereupon a divine white elephant came down from Kailasa and Sundarar ascended to Kailasa on its back. He took with him the other saint Cheraman and also his two wives, who rejoined as Parvati's maids.
