MIRA BAI

[an error occurred while processing this directive]
By that time, Mira's songs had become famous. Devoted people of Rajasthan started singing them, as they were sweet and full of Krishna-bhakti.

Many sadhus came to the temple and sang with her.

Emperor Akbar ruled at Delhi at that time. He was a cultured monarch. He liked good poetry and pious songs. He liked the Mira songs immensely. He felt that Mira must be a very devoted Lady. So, he wanted to get her darshan and blessing.

But the Mughals and Rajputs were sworn enemies. The Rajput would never allow him to enter Chitor, much less to see  one of their ladies.
