MIRA BAI

From that very day Mira began to lavish her love on that idol.

One day, when she was five years old, Mira saw a marriage procession passing by her house. The bridegroom was a small  child. He was dressed in beautiful garment and wore shining ornaments.

Tickled by this sight, she asked her mother in her innocence, "Mother, where is my bridegroom?"

Mira's mother smiled and said in joke, "Haven't you got him in your Krishna idol?"

Little Mira took it seriously and in her childish way started fondling the idol all the more.
