So Akbar and his court-poet, Tansen disguised themselves as Sadhus and visited Mira at the temple.

Akbar was greatly impressed by Mira's bhakti. He presented a diamond necklace to the idol of Krishna and left.

Soon news of Akbar's secret visit to Mira spread. Prince Bhoja's anger knew no bounds. He felt it as a shame for a Rajput woman to have seen him.

He rushed to Mira and said: "O Woman! Go and drown yourself in the river for shame!"

Obeying her husband's command Mira got up took leave of everyone and went to the river.
