JADA BHARATA

Jada Bharata replied: "King! I am not at all hurt by your abuse. I am not this body!"

The king was struck by the reply.

He stepped down from the palanquin and failing at the feet of Jada Bharata prayed: "O Mahatma! Please forgive me for my ignorance. Please teach me the sacred knowledge."

Then Jada Bharata revealing himself taught him the nature of self.

The sage ended: "A man becomes liberated when he severs all attachment through wisdom, keeps the company of great souls  and sings and listens to the praise of God!"

This story is found in the great Bhagavata Purana.
