HIGHEST VIRTUES

Among the many teachings of Srimad Bhagavatam is one devoted to a description of Eternal Dharmas or virtues applicable at all times to all people of all climes about which we shall read in this lesson.

Yudhishtira asked Narada, "O divine sage! I am eager to hear the eternal dharmas or rules of conduct prescribed for men,  by following which a human being can reach God."

In answer to that question Narada said, "Listen, I have learnt the eternal laws from Lord Narayana Himself. According to them, the highest of all virtues by which God is pleased are the following:
