HIGHEST VIRTUES

Srimad Bhagavatam is the holiest of Indian Puranas that have influenced Indian thought. It was a powerful instrument for  the spread of Vishnu Bhakti in the country.

Many Acharyas like Vallabha were influenced by this purana in the propagation of their system of philosophy.

The Radha-Krishna cult owes entirely to this Purana. Mainly through its influence the Braja-cult of Mathura and Brindavan  became popular.

Bhagavatam describes in its 10th and 11th Skandhas the life and leelas of Lord Krishna, although the stories of other Vishnu bhaktas like Prahlada, Dhruva and the avataras of Lord Vishnu are also described in it.
