SAMSKARAS

THE word Samskara means a purifying ceremony.

The rishis of ancient India have prescribed many Samskaras for a man from his birth to death.

The object of Samskaras is to make God love us more.

Samskaras also help us to learn discipline and develop character.

There are as many as forty Samsakars in a man’s life.

Of these only a-few are commonly observed these days.

As soon as a child is born, the father must go to the river and bathe and give away gifts to holy persons. These will please his
ancestors.
