SUGRIVA

When the fates are against, one never listens to well-meant advice.

So, Vali brushed her wise words aside and jumped to kill Sugriva.

Vali had a special gift. It was this: he could suck all the strength of his enemy who was visible to him!

So, Rama hid himself behind a giant tree and shot an arrow, which wounded Vali mortally.

It was a punishment for his evil deed in carrying away his own brother’s wife.

Rama coronated Sugriva as king of Kishkindha and Vali’s son Angada as Crown Prince.

Later on, Sugriva helped Rama to recover Sita from Lanka.

Thus the friendship between Rama and Sugriva became a byword.

Sugriva is also famous for his commands, which could never be disobeyed except on pain of death!
