RAMZAN-ID

The Koran, The holy book of the Muslims, came down from heaven to the earth one night during the last ten days of this month. When the holy book came, the whole of creation praised Allah or God.

At the end of this month comes Id. It is celebrated on the day following the sighting of the new moon.

Pious Muslims eagerl scan the sky for the appearance of the thin moon, because only after seeing it, they can break the month old fast.

What is most important about the Id celebration is that all Muslims pray together at the same place. A Muslim, place of worship is called Mosque. since it cannot hold the thousands that gather at this time, they choose a large maidan and pray there.

On that day, before praying , Muslims wear their best clothers and give alms like wheat or fruit or useful articles to the poor.
