CONFUCIUS

Confucius was gentle by nature, dignified, polite and gay. Even though very learned, he was humble.

Confucius lived up to the age of 72.

When he died, they buried him and built a temple to his memory at the place.

They have kept his caps, gowns, musical instruments and the books wrote in the temple, and some worship him like a God.

His teachings are collected in a bookcalled the Analects.

Confucius always said, "Good sons and good brothers will bring peace to a country."

He taught that every man should have sympathy for every other man, and that it is bad to carry anything to extremes.

Confucius loved humor too. He said about himself: "I forget to eat when I am enthusi -astic about something; forget all my worries when I am happy, and forget that old age is coming on."

When you grow older, you will read many of his wise sayings.
