THE NARMADA

In the end they together fall into the sea. These places too are junctions. In the Sanskrit language the place where two rivers meet is called Sangam.

There are many Sangams in our country. They are holy places, where people bathe on holy days like Amaas and Sankraanti. There are many Sangams on the Narmada too.

There are also many holy ashramas on the banks of the Narmada.

One day your parents may take you for a holy bath in this river.

MEANINGS

1. Tirthas        - Holy spots to bathe.

2. Pilgrimage - Religious journey.

3. Slim             - Thin.

4. Dodged      - Tried to escape.
