VASISHTHA

One full-moon night, Viswamitra hid himself behind Vasishtha's ashrama, ready to kill Vasishtha.

Just then, he heard Vasishtha tell his wife, "How lucky is Viswamitra to perform tapas on this beautiful moonlit night!"

Hearing these words Viswamitra felt ashamed of himself.

At once he threw away his weapon, rushed to Vasishtha, and fell at his feet.

Vasishtha embraced him. Such was Vasishtha's love.

Today Vasishtha and his wife Arundhati shine in the sky as two bright stars!

Newly-wedded couples worship them.
