He appointed a
Council of Ministers and raised the money needed for running the government and the
maintenance of the
army from donations collected from the Indian residents in the East and also from the
Government of Japan. The Japanese gave a 11 seater aircraft for him to travel.
Bose also raised an army of women called the Rani of Jhansi regiment, a Balak Sena. The
government even issued stamps.
It was Bose's plan to make this Indian army to spearhead ;he attack on the British in
India and take over India when the
British ran. But fate proved otherwise; for, the Japanese were defeated in the war and the
INA personnel suffered heavily as
a result. |
