RAJA RAM MOHUN ROY

In those days there was Mohammedan rule in our country.

Those who wanted to get a job in the government or become prominent, had to learn those languages.

Ram Mohun was married even before his education was completed.

While studying at Patna, he had to read the Koran and Islamic teachings. Some of those teachings appealed to him.

One of them was the Mohammedan way of worshipping God, without idols or pictures. He felt that it would be better for the Hindus too to worship God without form.

Ram Mohun was about sixteen years of age when he returned home after completing his education.
